Joseph Isadore Lieberman

Escalation Without Commitment

Joe Lieberman an "independent" democrat has highlighted his reasons for sticking with the fight , in todays Washington Post, citing the same arguments we have heard over and over and over again, because the consequences of losing will be "catastrophic" we must summon the vision and courage to escalate the fight in Iraq with more troops. The killing fields will fill with blood if we don't keep up the "good fight" and the US will lose face with the wolrd. "The troop surge should be militarily meaningful in size, with a clearly defined mission. More U.S. forces might not be a guarantee of success in this fight, but they are certainly its prerequisite."

Iraq, says Joe IS "...the central front in the global and regional war against Islamic extremism." It is with vision to the ultimate clash of civilizations that we must view this fight against evil and barbarism that seeks to undermine the US." sayeth Joe prophetically.

A clearly defined mission Joe?

More war requires more money. Raise taxes!

More war requires more troops. Support the Draft.

So unless and until you support these actions; the raising of the taxes and the reinstatement of the draft, Joe Isadore Lieberman, may I suggest that you just Shut Up.

Please!

And for the sake of balance

Here is what another "non-independent" democrat had to say about the coming escalation or troop surge as the republicans like to frame it.

Escalation is Not the Answer by Barak Hussein Obama

He doesn't want the US to continue an open ended commitment to essentially babysit the Iraqi government while our soldiers are looked at as numbers stuck in the middle of a civil war and no side to take.

(If you click the link, you can even write the White House to express your support for a diplomatic option rather than an escalation of the war)

It is the economy, stupid.

…………

Lieberman is not anymore a Democrat

Thus he does not provide bipartisan support for the "escalation"
