Maybe Joe Biden's Not Such A Bad Fellow After All, I Mean Whats A Few Racist Remarks Or Plagerism Matter Anyway?

WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama told everyone he wanted a running mate who will challenge his thinking, and now he's got one. Joe Biden's tendency to speak his own mind—and speak and speak—is entwined in his DNA.
The loquacious Delaware senator brings more than verbiage to Obama's side. Biden is a foreign policy heavyweight with a decade longer in the Senate than the seasoned Republican presidential candidate, John McCain. That's almost three more decades of experience than his new boss.
In Washington, Biden, 65, is known as a collegial figure even when he's competitive—one who can spin flowery praise one moment and biting fulmination the next.

Great stuff
Can we compare and contrast to McCain's racial jokes and his plagarism.
Did you hear about the ape that raped the white girl, said John McCain.
And Wiki isn't always the best source for foreign policy research.
We haven't even started with the Keating Five.
It you want to dig up skeletons, feel free.
Bring It Mr. Wingnutter.
It is the economy, stupid.
Oh rest assured they will...
More than how bad they look together, no wonder they're not going to be together till after the convention. Why would Obama pick a guy who got 250K votes in the primary when he could have had Hillary with 18 million! And if Obama couldn't reconcile himself with Hillary, why should her supporters reconcile with him?
Obama has been running on a platform of hope and change and then he goes and chooses a dinosaur like Joe Biden.
Joe Biden is a huge part of what has been wrong with the Democratic party for the last 36 years. Joe "motormouth" Biden is just about the worst choice I can think of , especially for a candidate who now needs all the help he can get to win the election with he and McCain now neck to neck.
Joe Biden will not appeal to independent voters at all. He will mainly appeal to those voters who have nothing better to do with their time than put down George Bush incessantly.
Most people, however, see him for the two-faced person that he is. Biden initially voted for the war, but has been tearing Bush down for it ever since.
All I can say is, I believe this decision has sealed Obama's fate, as it should. Joe Biden add's nothing to Obama's campaign.
The American people have had their say regarding Joe biden!
(From Wiki)
In September 1987, Joe Biden's then campaign ran into serious trouble when he was accused of plagiarizing a speech by Neil Kinnock, then-leader of the British Labour Party. He failed to make mention of the originator and was caught on video. Within days, it was also discovered that, while at Syracuse Law School, Biden had plagiarized a law review article in a class paper he wrote. Biden said the act was inadvertent due to his not knowing the proper rules of citation, and Biden was permitted to retake the course after receiving a grade of F in the course. Biden also released at the same time the record of his grades as an undergraduate which were C's and D's with the exception of two A's in physical education, one B in a course on English writers and an F in ROTC during his first three semesters. Further, when questioned by a New Hampshire resident about his grades in law school Biden had claimed falsely to have graduated in the "top half" of his class, when he actually graduated 76th in a class of 85 and had received 3 degrees and was granted a full scholorship! (I know JM was in the bottom of his class, but at least JM admits it.). In fact he had received only a single B.A. in history and political science and a half scholarship based on financial need.
This is a perfect example of why Obama should not be POTUS, he is a extremely poor decision maker! That is evidenced over and over again.
Anyway, this is now a turkey shoot!

Ye doth protest too much
So far two of my blue collar friends have expressed to me, how much they like Joe Biden...... calling me ...... with the news that he is VP. Their enthusiasm was unsolicited.
Biden is a bridge for blue collar voters to Obama.
It is the economy, stupid.
Sure they did... ;-) n/t

Sorry for the edit,
but there are serious legal issues involved with the reposting of entire articles. Check out the recent L.A. Times v. Free Republic
case, where the courts came down on FR despite that site not really being for-profit.

NP...I put the link there?

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter.
Even a cited source can be found in violation of fair use if the courts find that it unfairly deprives the original source of page views. If you posted an entire article (or even a significant amount of it), you'd be eliminating the incentive for us to follow the link, which is contrary to fair use doctrine.
No worries, we just need to protect ourselves here. You can still send people to the article, pull a few lines, and comment on it all you want.

Biden's certainly got a few cases in his past
of questionable judgment or poor phrasing.
I'm guessing (or maybe just hoping) that the vetting process made the Obama people confident that all Biden's issues are already out there and that there are no further big problems that will come up in October.

The DNC should have vetted Obama himself... n/t

I got the impression that Hillary's campaign
did a pretty thorough job of raising concerns about him, no? And enough voters as well as super delegates took that into account but cast their support behind him for him to claim the nomination.
I mean McCain is now echoing attacks that have already been heard by anyone who followed the Dem primaries. This is not to say that such attacks on Obama will be entirely ineffective, but the audience of people who haven't heard this stuff before is biased towards folks already inclined to support McCain.

I also dabble in copyright law
Obviously I'm not a lawyer, but I take a special interest in copyright law because of issues regarding technology.
The site is not liable due to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. What will happen is the host (who Ender pays) will get a notice of possible infringement and will be required to take down the information immediately. Ender and his host are only personally liable if they don't abide by the notice.
In related issues, the suggestions
I made previously haven't received as much attention as I hoped. If Ender or Brendan or any other admins are busy, I'm glad to help since I'm sans-job. Hey, maybe this could go on a resume someday. :-)

Whats A Few Racist
Oh, give me a break. Where did those silly, partisan talking points come from. Geez. Try to come up with something a little better than cheesy, sophomoric, ditto-head snark.
Yeah, the guy said a couple of things that sound stupid (and by the way, the Indian convenience store remark was made in a conversation with Indian-Americans and was meant as a compliment, however awkward), but I don't think anyone has reason to even suspect he might be a racist.
Hmm, the title didn't have that
effect on me.
Maybe because I take it for granted that non-racist people can inadvertently utter racist remarks.
However, I agree that it's more fair to characterize Biden's comments as "things that sound stupid" than "racist" since racist is harder to establish.
Come, my friends. 'Tis not too late to seek a newer world -- Tennyson
It hinges on intent
Remarks' racism value is influenced by the intent of the maker of the remark.
I can (and sometimes do) use the word "n*gger", but only in a satirical context and only if I know my words won't offend anyone. Using that word does not make a racist. The intent is what makes people or words racist.
With respect to Biden, he isn't a racist (AFAIK) and his words have never had racist intent.

on the off chance that some people have filters installed at work.
It's next to impossible to objectively evaluate what somebody was thinking, without being inside their head. You can only look at their actions and other words to try to figure out if a particular phrase fits with a pattern or is just an unfortunate slip.
