HI all,

I am mostly a lurker here as at other blog sites , because although I do have an opinion about ( mostly ) everything , my upbringing and personality is such that I am shy to offer it without exploring all sides of the issue .
I still remember Sister Dominic back in high school teaching about the role of " Devils Advocate " , and how important it is to think before one speaks .... that being said ... the new blog world is exciting and there hardly seems time to pause or think as the comments come flying fast and furious !
I greatly admire the thinkers and comments here. MissLiberties always comes up with the nugget of truth to me , and she shows patience in the face of scorn from .... yes, Mad scientist, Ender at times, and of course Go right .... who only shows scorn for Dems of all types from what I can gather. ] I like Tabloc, Brendan, Cheney love child, Spiritual Lefty too ......
It has been said the the Republican party is the party of mean old white men .... and one can see some of that crankiness here ,. Sometimes there is just meaness for the sake of meaness, I remember when Clinton passed the Family Leave ACt ( I work in health care so I know a lot about illness ) and thinking, what a good Bill, stay with a dying loved one and not lose ones job .... who could object to that ??? Well I believe GHW Bush vetoed that Bill a few times !!!! Are we so in thrall to Corporations that a 3 month leave would break us ??? I just do not get it with Republicans who claim the Family Values Mantle ... all of their policies seem anti family to me , and Libertarians are just another excuse for selfishness as far as I can tell about that .

However I still listen to all sides and remain ready to be convinced that the Republicans have the ' better way " forward for America. Even though I suffered though the 90's with friends who turned the TV channel every time Bill Clinton came on , ( and we are still friends , though it is strained .... I believe in moving forward and not looking back too much . The next President will inherit an America that has been set back in every way, economically , status in the world , morale, we are at a low ebb, Anyone who thinks this President is doing a good job is seriously delusional .
