The Christian creators of the sprawling museum, unveiled on Saturday, hope to draw as many as half a million people each year to their state-of-the-art project, which depicts the Bible's first book, Genesis, as literal truth.
A museum about the Bible? Go for it! A museum attempting to pass the literal Bible off as science? A sad joke... on the kids who go there. I bet they'll do well in school when they answer that the Grand Canyon formed during Noah's flood.
The best part? those who believe God created the heavens and the Earth in six days about 6,000 years ago say their views are finally being represented. Deliberate ignorance and scientific illiteracy dressed up as a mere difference in opinion. Perfectly consistent with the world in which we live today, where it is conservatives who embrace the idea that there is no absolute truth, and that everyone's opinion matters equally, and that years of research and expertise matter less than a whim, a hunch, or blind faith.
What a disservice to true religion.

...rather than trying to force the inbred mouth breathing plebes to actually learn something about the world we should encourage their descending (further) into superstitious ignorance.
Hopefully it'll spark some discussion on health care. I noticed Moore on dKos discussing his film, and I'm not ready to sign on for all his proposed changes, but he's certainly highlighting a problem.

A Navy SEAL sacrificed his life to save his comrades by throwing himself on top of a grenade Iraqi insurgents tossed into their sniper hideout, fellow members of the elite force said.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Monsoor had been near the only door to the rooftop structure Sept. 29 when the grenade hit him in the chest and bounced to the floor, said four SEALs who spoke to The Associated Press this week on condition of anonymity because their work requires their identities to remain secret.
"He never took his eye off the grenade, his only movement was down toward it," said a 28-year-old lieutenant who sustained shrapnel wounds to both legs that day. "He undoubtedly saved mine and the other SEALs' lives, and we owe him."

I rented Deja Vu, with Denzel Washington. I enjoyed it. About folding time and changing events. Shot in New Orleans,as an economic boost, and to honor those brave citizens who have had to endure so much.
I want to see how Keith Richards comes across in his cameo. The critics have slammed it though. I don't care about the critics so much though. I like the series so far, even if it is a fantasy adventure series.
and it was a bit too long and kinda fairly boring in parts (most parts). Very average imo, but then again I can't say I was a huge fan prior to this one.
I also saw Les Miserables the movie and that was excellent. Also Cinema Paradiso (italian movie) which was awesome as well. Also Babel... which was not too bad but a bit disconnected in parts.
Lots of movies this weekend :)
